1. Edison had a device known as the Kinetoscope.

2. The kinetoscope, which could only be viewed by one person at a time, was soon replaced by screen projectors , which showed the movie to a whole room of people at once.

3. 1894 - Thomas Edison demonstrates the kinetoscope, a device for peep-show viewing using photographs that flip in sequence, a precursor to movies.

4. Edison came up with the idea of the Kinetoscope and had participated in some of the experiments.

5. His major inventions include phonograph, kinetoscope , dictaphone, incandescent light bulb and tattoo gun etc.

6. These Kinetoscope arcades were modeled on phonograph parlors, which had proven successful for Edison several years earlier.

7. Although Edison and Dickson made a great contribution to the development of the motion pictures, there was one big problem with the Kinetoscope .
