1 Add the tinned tomatoes, the beef and chicken stock cubes and the water and slowly cook until the vegetables are done.

2 Add the chopped onion and stock cube and simmer for 8-10 minutes until the onion is tender.

3 Sprinkle the stock cube over and add the remaining ingredients.

4 Bring a pan of water to the boil and add the stock cube.

5 In the meantime, cook the rice according to the instructions, using the pilau rice stock cube.

6 Bring out each item at a time, very ceremoniously, even if it is only an old stock cube or a rubbery carrot or such.
