(1) The Saurashtra Kutch region, popularly known as India's groundnut bowl, is threatening to fall off the agricultural map.

(2) Water levels in the Ganges, Indus, Narmada, Sabarmati, Godavari and other rivers of the Kutch were this week at dangerously low levels.
