(1) Results: Gastroplegia was caused by many factors especially age, surgical trauma, cutting of pneumogastric nerve, electrolyte disturbances, pain and psychological factor after the surgery.

(2) Objective: To discuss the probable reasons of the gastroplegia syndrome after abdomen surgery, and seek the correct effective method of treatment.

(3) Methods 63 cases of gastroplegia after gastrectomy were retrospectively analyzed.

(4) Result: Clinical manifestation, Gastroscopy and gastroenterography play a major role in the diagnosis of gastroplegia.

(5) Conclusion Preventive insertion of NIT during operation is useful in reducing gastroplegia oceurrance and shortening the curing time in the gastroplegia high risk patients.
