1. Colluvial deposits at the foot of valley slopes usually affect only narrow strips of valley bottom.

2. The soil bank may be summarized two type: colluvial deposit and accretion. The different original cause provide them different characters on colluvial deposit stability and stability under water.

3. The colluvial deposit is categorized into three types according to the mechanisms of landslide. The engineering characteristics of different colluvial deposit are studied through four cases.

4. Clay minerals distribute extensively in various slopes made of sedimentary rock, weathering profiles of igneous rock, metamorphic rock and sedimentary rock and colluvial deposits.

5. The major types of rock are weathered volcanic and granite in the slope in Hong Kong, and the part surface of the slopes are covered with colluvial soil.

6. On the basis of granulometric analysis of samples from colluvial wedge sediments caused by normal fault, the sedimentary environment is discussed.
