1 The thyro-hyoid membrane, infraglottic cavity, cricothyroid membrane, anterior commissure and vocal ligament of the larynx were studied in 30 male adults and 6 female(?)adults by dissection.

2 Methods: 251 cases performed cricothyroid largngotomy instead of incision of trachea .

3 Objective : To investigate the feasibility of cricothyroid laryngotomy instead of incision of trachea.

4 Objective:To investigate the feasibility of Selsctive cricothyroid laryngotomy instead of incision of trachea.

5 Conclusion The recurrent laryngeal nerve innervate all the intrinsic muscles of the larynx except cricothyroid muscle, paralysis of the nerve leads to atrophy of related muscles.

6 The External Laryngeal Nerve is a motor nerve, innervating the cricothyroid muscle and part of the transverse arytenoid muscle.
