(1) Alkaline detergents are effective for emulsification and deflocculation.

(2) Fine sediment flocculation and deflocculation play an important role in soil penetrability and soil erodibility, and are one of the primary contents of soil and water conservation.

(3) Flocculation and deflocculation of fine sediment play an important role in soil structural stability, agro-chemical compounds movement and eroded sediment transport.

(4) Experimental results showed that after treated by deflocculation, flocs of oily air-flotation scum was broken completely, dehydration property and fluidity were markedly improved.

(5) Oily DAF scum was used in this research, and deflocculation was suggested as a core technology of sludge treatment by studying on the physical chemical property of oily DAF scum.
