1. Octadecyl acrylate was synthesized with acrylic acid and octadecanol as raw materials.

2. The di- octadecanol maleic was prepared with maleic anhydride and octadecanol as raw materials and p - toluene sulphonic acid as catalyst.

3. Results The optimized prescription was composed of 5% of glycerol, 8% of white vaseline, 8% of octadecanol, 1% of sodium dodecyl sulfate, from which the manufactured products had good stability.

4. A new type gemini surfactant was synthesized from 1,4 - butanediol , maleic anhydride and 1 - octadecanol.
