1) The third Speedlight SB-80DX acted as hair light. To get a softer light, I used Speedlight Pro Kit Softbox.

2) The speedlight will pre-flash that area and lock that exposure into memory. I might caution you that you have 16 seconds to then recompose and take the shot.

3) Automatic filter detection: Speedlight automatically adjusts the attached camera's white balance settings when a fluorescent or incandescent color filter is used.

4) I set a Nikon SB900 speedlight to "slave" mode, turned the internal flash down as low as it could go and it triggered the Nikon every time, even without line of sight.

5) Also, the voltage inside a charged speedlight is extremely high and dangerous. Do not curiously open a unit to see how it works.

6) on location, three Nikon Speedlight SB-800s and a translucent umbrella.

7) I mounted the two Spring Grip Clamps on to the seat backs of two chairs. In the clips I mounted Nikon Speedlight SB-80DX and directed them against the white wall.
